About This Role and About You
This position is directly involved in assisting the engineering team at the Fort Saskatchewan plant with their daily activities. The primary focus of the position will be to assist in the implementation of a computerized management system. Students will gain hands on experience while working with the Dalhousie team.
Responsibilities
- To assist the plant Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Departments on the management and control of changes to processes and equipment.
- To provide technical assistance to Operations and Maintenance Departments under the direction of the Process
- To perform engineering assignments as required to maintain and upgrade plant equipment and facility, reduce costs and support a safe, environmentally sound operation.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technician program
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Able to read Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

About This Position and About You
This position is responsible for manufacturing sulphur based chemicals and loading chemicals for transport into trailers and rail cars. Due to the hazardous nature of the chemicals being handled (corrosives and toxic inhalation hazards), this position requires an extremely safety conscientious individual.
Qualification
Knowledge
- Fourth Class Power Engineer Required. Preferred BCIT program.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, & Excel).
- Strong math skills and basic understanding of chemistry.
- Experience working with plant equipment including pumps, electric motors, actuators, valves, instrumentation etc. preferred.
- Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) experience preferred
- Forklift training and experience preferred
- First aid certification preferred.
Competencies
- Must have initiative, the ability to work with minimum supervision, be highly motivated, energetic, and enjoy learning and working as part of a team.
- Positive attitude towards safety, wearing correct PPE, and following procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Control and monitor plant equipment for the purposes of manufacturing and transferring chemicals. Measure, mix and add chemicals to reactors. Observes pressures, temperatures, levels, and flows and make operational adjustments as necessary.
- Perform quality tests on chemical samples.
- Carry out Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) activities in compliance with regulations.
- Perform pre-loading and post-loading inspections and checks.
- Participate in industrial railway operations: load and unload rail cars, move rail cars on site.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete.
- Participate in field level risk assessments and issue maintenance safe work permits.
- Participate in energy isolation lock-out tag-out (LOTO) activities.
- Carry out in-scope maintenance operations.
- Maintain a neat, clean, orderly work area. Participate in plant housekeeping activities.
- Ensure records are accurately maintained and that procedures are followed.
- Safely operate a forklift and wheel loader.

The Operations Manager has a key role as part of the plant management team in advancing the performance, people, and systems of the operations team, and the unit overall, to these high standards. Operate the plant within approved fixed and variable budget plans. Track period costs and material and energy usage. Reconcile spending and usage to plan. Assist in preparation of the plant’s period and capital plans.

Ensure that the plant is operated within regulatory and permit limits, and in compliance with Chemtrade’s policies and procedures.

About this Role and About You
The Customer Support Coordinator is the primary contact for customers, carriers, and suppliers for all Customer Service activity. CSC is responsible for maintaining carrier dispatcher relationships to ensure product and service continuity to Chemtrade customers. CSR is also a primary contact to liaise between customers and other cross functional teams within the organization to meet customer requirements, and address any customer non-conformances.
Qualifications
- Fully French/English bilingual in both spoken and written communications
- Bachelor degree in business OR equivalent of education and/or experience would be considered
- 2 years experience in customer service. Supply chain related function preferred.
- Order entry experience
- CSCs will be required to be on call on a rotating basis in order to support the business in other regions and time zones
- Must be comfortable in a hybrid setting
- Computer proficiency; MS Office Suite
- Experience with SAP or other ERP system an asset
- TDG certificate an asset.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Customer Support – 70%
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Probe to identify customer needs and requirements
- Receive orders, arrange carriers and complete paperwork (from order creation through invoicing).
- Enter and schedule orders, monitor and expedite deliveries to customers
- Work with the designated carrier dispatchers from order to delivery
- Ensure customer purchase orders match Chemtrade pricing terms and conditions
- Send PO acknowledgement to customer upon receipt of PO
- Adjust order schedules and carriers to meet the customer delivery requirement as needed
- Communicate order changes to the customer to ensure acceptability and alignment with requirements
- Maintain customer requirements database and ensure that requirements are met
- Ensure a PDI is available before first delivery and revised every 3 years
- Ensure FDI/PDI is completed within the parameters set for each form. Obtain appropriate approvals by Technical Services (for PDI) CS Management (for FDI)
- Adhere to risk and compliance processes and policies
- Communicate any incidents to Operations & Transportation Managers for investigation;
- Report Non-Conformances to log as per ISO policies & procedures
- Initiate and manage non conformances through incident and quality reporting for all assigned customers; participate in any investigation as appropriate
- Facilitate customer inquiries and/or reporting requirements. Assist customer on all service issues (including tech service, quality, sales management, etc.).
- Communicate issues/incidents affecting customer deliveries, safety, production delays or carrier performance to appropriate stakeholders
- Update SAP/S4 contracts as necessary
- Research invoices discrepancies for Accounting, Customers and Sales
- Facilitate customer inquiries and/or reporting requirements
- Assist customer on all service issues.
- Take ownership of customer inquiries until resolved. Follow up with customer to ensure satisfaction with Chemtrade's response
- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to fill customer orders
- Research invoices discrepancies for accounting, customers and sales
- Assist the Customer Support Supervisor and the Commercial Team by maintaining customer information systems and relaying customer and competitive activity
- Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings and meet service level agreements
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset to streamline current processes with the goal of optimizing the customer experience
Carrier Coordination – 10%
- Arrange transportation (truck & rail) equipment to maintain customer inventories
- Liaise with carrier to ensure that service expectations are met; monitor carrier performance against established performance standards and criteria; work closely with Chemtrade operations to capture all non-conformances
- Maintain database of carrier performance and delivery occurrences; communicate any incidents to Operations & Transportation Managers for investigation; log any Non-Conformances per ISO policies & procedures
- Communicate carrier performance feedback to the Transportation Team.
- Ensure accuracy for paperwork for all shipments following standards for hazardous goods and TDG regulations
Product Planning - 10%
- Monitor on the telemetry customer’s tank status and manage designated customer inventories accordingly with consideration and communication of scheduled shutdowns
- Work with supply chain for annual/seasonal production outages at Chemtrade supply points to ensure product continuity for internal and external customer requirements
- Work with Commercial team to ensure third party product availability if necessary to maintain customer demand during any outages
General Responsibilities – 10%
- Work with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end requirements to specified deadlines
- Train designated backup and cross-train on all product line responsibilities in Customer Service
- Daily post good issue of customer shipments
- Perform office housekeeping once a month if assigned
- Upload documents to DMS/ Sharepoint
- Support Customer Experience and Customer excellence initiatives
- Support cross functional initiatives as representatives of the Customer Service group
- Additional duties as required within scope of the Customer Service organization

Qualités requises
- De 3 à 5 ans d'expérience en administration ou dans un service de paie

- Bonne connaissance de Microsoft Office, des rapports, des feuilles de calcul et de la saisie de données.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily administrative duties for Bill of Ladings (BOL)
- Manages and completes daily shipment schedule and works with operations team on a daily basis
- Manages daily performance numbers regarding trucks
- Arranges multi truck loads for municipality customers when required
- Completes all trucking administration for both Canadian and U.S shipments
- Posts all truck delivery data/information in system
- Enters production data and requirements on a daily basis in SAP system
- Completes purchase orders (POs) for AP in SAP system
- Manages inventory requirements for products. Orders product based on production needs and requirements
- Previous experience TDG – Transportation of dangerous goods
- Strong organizational skills
- Inventory management – conduct detailed inventory reports daily/weekly/monthly as required in support of both administrative/office and production operations
- Coordinate timely reception of raw materials with procurement.
- Assist in vendor management including and not limited to on site contractors as well as suppliers
- Process timesheets and payroll reports
- Assist payroll with inquiries and discrepancies
- Follow up with vendors on payments/overdue payments
- Maintains an organized system of files and documents to support Quality/Manufacturing team, EHS and Human Resources
- Coordinate and complete new hire training documentation, new hire packets, assist new employees with any questions.
- Verifies all new employee verifications are complete
- Completes shipping documentation for sending out samples to customers. Ensuring customs documentation is completed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
What You Need To Be Successful
- 3-5 years of administrative/payroll experience
- Experience with logistics (administrative coordination, courier services, coordination of drivers and deliveries)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/reporting/spreadsheets/data entry
- Accounting experience is required
- Bilingualism is mandatory (French & English)

About this Role and About You
The Customer Support Coordinator is the primary contact for customers, carriers, and suppliers for all Customer Service activity. CSC is responsible for maintaining carrier dispatcher relationships to ensure product and service continuity to Chemtrade customers. CSR is also a primary contact to liaise between customers and other cross functional teams within the organization to meet customer requirements, and address any customer non-conformances.
Qualifications
- Fully French/English bilingual in both spoken and written communications
- Bachelor degree in business OR equivalent of education and/or experience would be considered
- 2 years experience in customer service. Supply chain related function preferred.
- Order entry experience
- CSCs will be required to be on call on a rotating basis in order to support the business in other regions and time zones
- Must be comfortable in a hybrid setting
- Computer proficiency; MS Office Suite
- Experience with SAP or other ERP system an asset
- TDG certificate an asset.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Customer Support – 70%
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Probe to identify customer needs and requirements
- Receive orders, arrange carriers and complete paperwork (from order creation through invoicing).
- Enter and schedule orders, monitor and expedite deliveries to customers
- Work with the designated carrier dispatchers from order to delivery
- Ensure customer purchase orders match Chemtrade pricing terms and conditions
- Send PO acknowledgement to customer upon receipt of PO
- Adjust order schedules and carriers to meet the customer delivery requirement as needed
- Communicate order changes to the customer to ensure acceptability and alignment with requirements
- Maintain customer requirements database and ensure that requirements are met
- Ensure a PDI is available before first delivery and revised every 3 years
- Ensure FDI/PDI is completed within the parameters set for each form. Obtain appropriate approvals by Technical Services (for PDI) CS Management (for FDI)
- Adhere to risk and compliance processes and policies
- Communicate any incidents to Operations & Transportation Managers for investigation;
- Report Non-Conformances to log as per ISO policies & procedures
- Initiate and manage non conformances through incident and quality reporting for all assigned customers; participate in any investigation as appropriate
- Facilitate customer inquiries and/or reporting requirements. Assist customer on all service issues (including tech service, quality, sales management, etc.).
- Communicate issues/incidents affecting customer deliveries, safety, production delays or carrier performance to appropriate stakeholders
- Update SAP/S4 contracts as necessary
- Research invoices discrepancies for Accounting, Customers and Sales
- Facilitate customer inquiries and/or reporting requirements
- Assist customer on all service issues.
- Take ownership of customer inquiries until resolved. Follow up with customer to ensure satisfaction with Chemtrade's response
- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to fill customer orders
- Research invoices discrepancies for accounting, customers and sales
- Assist the Customer Support Supervisor and the Commercial Team by maintaining customer information systems and relaying customer and competitive activity
- Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings and meet service level agreements
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset to streamline current processes with the goal of optimizing the customer experience
Carrier Coordination – 10%
- Arrange transportation (truck & rail) equipment to maintain customer inventories
- Liaise with carrier to ensure that service expectations are met; monitor carrier performance against established performance standards and criteria; work closely with Chemtrade operations to capture all non-conformances
- Maintain database of carrier performance and delivery occurrences; communicate any incidents to Operations & Transportation Managers for investigation; log any Non-Conformances per ISO policies & procedures
- Communicate carrier performance feedback to the Transportation Team.
- Ensure accuracy for paperwork for all shipments following standards for hazardous goods and TDG regulations
Product Planning - 10%
- Monitor on the telemetry customer’s tank status and manage designated customer inventories accordingly with consideration and communication of scheduled shutdowns
- Work with supply chain for annual/seasonal production outages at Chemtrade supply points to ensure product continuity for internal and external customer requirements
- Work with Commercial team to ensure third party product availability if necessary to maintain customer demand during any outages
General Responsibilities – 10%
- Work with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end requirements to specified deadlines
- Train designated backup and cross-train on all product line responsibilities in Customer Service
- Daily post good issue of customer shipments
- Perform office housekeeping once a month if assigned
- Upload documents to DMS/ Sharepoint
- Support Customer Experience and Customer excellence initiatives

About This Position and About You
Reporting to the supervisor, the Electrician will perform and support various activities including, but not limited to, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, as per work orders and/or supervisor’s instructions, in a safe and efficient manner. This position provides excellent opportunity to obtain industrial electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will be part of a team of Electricians, Instrumentation Mechanics, Millwrights, Pipefitters, and control specialists; we have a great team and are excited for you to join us. This is a unionized position based on 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7 am – 5 pm); occasional overtime on evenings and weekends may be required. Applicants with Instrumentation certification are preferred and may be eligible for an additional dual trade premium.
Qualification
Knowledge
- Must possess Inter-provincial Journeyman electrician’s Certification (red seal)
- 3+ years’ experience in a journeyman maintenance electrician’s role, industrial environment experience is preferred.
Competencies
- Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to identify and solve complex problems
- Computer literacy with the ability to work with MS Office applications.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs without assistance.
- For purposes of performing work: must be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, squat, climb ladders, etc. without any difficulties.
- Must pass company medical and background checks.
- Preference may be given to individuals with an additional journeyman Instrumentation’s ticket.
Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and replace, motors, frequency drives, and control/interlock switches.
- Test and repair, lighting, heat trace, cables and power distribution devices.
- Maintain and repair the plant power distribution systems; this includes working on transformers, rectifiers, switch gear, motor control centers, and protection devices up to and including 60 kV.
- Test troubleshoot and repair voltage monitoring and communication systems (Modbus, Ethernet).
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and configure PLCs.
- Work with automation specialists to troubleshoot and repair control systems as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Canadian Electrical Code, company policies, safety and environmental standards, good housekeeping, and Responsible Care practices.
- Participate in risk assessments, Root Cause Failure Analysis and maintenance optimization or improvement initiatives.
- Identify, install, develop, and implement upgrades on existing electrical equipment.
- Use the Work Order system to track hours, parts and supplies, and equipment history.
- Be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Maintain familiarity, and comply with all Chemtrade corporate and site Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.
- Participate in job safety analysis activities, housekeeping tours, safety programs and initiatives, such as Behavior-Based Observations, company surveys, etc.
- Prior ABB Infi90 DCS and ABB PLC experience is desired.

About this Role and About You
The Operations Manager at our Edmonton, AB plant has responsibility for keeping the plant in a safe and reliable operating condition. They are responsible for all Operations activities at the plant. The activities/responsibilities include management of all site operations personnel, all contract personnel, day to day production activities, assistance with the Preventive Maintenances program, the Mechanical Integrity Program, and the CAPEX program. About this Role and About You
This individual manages all aspects of operations at the facility. The plant manager ensures the safe operation of the facility, ensures environmental compliance, is accountable for achievement of plant performance objectives and product quality, and monitors plant expenditures and budget. The incumbent will oversee some activities (i.e. manufacturing, maintenance) with his direct reports and will manage/direct others (i.e. quality, EHS, engineers) in coordination with the site Quality Manager, EHS supervisor and Engineering group representative. He/she will also ensure the satisfaction of customers by delivering product on time (working directly or indirectly with Logistics and Customer Service department). The incumbent is also responsible for managing the site CAPEX program. This is the top management position at the facility.

About This Position and About You
The millwright will support various activities including but not limited to preventative, predictive corrective maintenance, as per work orders and/or supervisor’s instructions, in a safe and efficient manner. Such activities include (but are not limited to) inspection, repair, installation, removal, troubleshooting of plant equipment, such as (but not limited to) pumps, conveyors, compressors, fans and blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mobile and lifting equipment, power transmission systems, and other process related assets. This position requires flexibility in meeting multiple job demands and the requirement to assist other tradespersons as and when needed.
Qualification
Knowledge

Must possess Red Seal Journeyperson ticket in Industrial Mechanic (Millwrighting).

5+ years’ experience in a journeyman maintenance role in a hands-on and in an industrial environment.

Must be able to lift 40 lbs without assistance.

For purposes of performing work: must be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, squat, climb ladders, etc. without any difficulties.

Responsibilities
- Maintain, install, inspect, replace or repair Plant Equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Use the Work Order system to track hours, parts and supplies, and equipment history
- Deal with suppliers and initiate purchases through the Chemtrade Purchasing system
- Assist other trades-persons as and when needed and supervise an apprentice
- Perform other maintenance related duties as and when needed
- Be willing and able to work overtime and be on call as required
- Maintain familiarity, and comply with all Chemtrade corporate and site Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures
- Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases)
- Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion
- Follow all Chemtrade facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices
- Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement
- Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement
- Participate in job safety analysis activities, housekeeping tours, in Safety programs and initiatives, such as Behaviour-Based Observations
Work Conditions
- Shifts are 5 days x 8 hours; however, overtime, afternoon, night, and weekend work may be required as per plant’s needs;
- This is an electrochemical, industrial, process type plant. Much of the work is outdoors and frequent walking, bending, crouching, squatting, climbing ladders, etc. may be required.
- Please note various chemicals are present on this site. Hence, there is a great sense of awareness, care, precaution, and training around that.

About This Role and About You
The Director, Corporate Reliability provides leadership and direction in the areas of both Mechanical and Electrical Reliability across Chemtrade’s operations. They lead the Reliability Teams to develop processes that will identify and eliminate or minimize asset reliability risks that could affect business operations, which include, but are not limited to: mechanical integrity, electrical studies, SAP PM, FMEAs, turn arounds, root cause analysis, availability & OEE, etc. They will establish and maintain “Best Practice” engineering standards for manufacturing sites across all sites, as well as define long term strategies to align the businesses. They will work with Plant Managers to drive reliability ownership to the site, but also communicate and leverage learnings from other plants. They will seek out new technologies and how they could apply to improve site reliability. They will move the Chemtrade Reliability Program from a reactive maintenance program to a predictive and proactive maintenance program
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a maintenance and reliability environment, including minimum of 5 years leadership experience
- Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred
- Extensive experience with mechanical integrity, predictive and proactive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and maintenance management, process control systems, life cycle analysis, corrosion prevention, boilers and burners.
- Extensive knowledge of ASME, ASTM and other relevant standards for process equipment
- Demonstrated success in building and leading teams, as well as driving accountability

Key Responsibilities

As a part of the IT team, you will maintian, computers, servers, and other IT assets. You will be responsible for montinoring the health of the system as well as identifying and solving issues within the systems. Using your knowledge of systems operations, you will help to ensure that IT operations run smoothly across our locations in Canada and the US.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent experience required.

- Monitor environment and identify potential issues with IT systems and services (disk space, memory usage, processor, applications, service outages, application issues, etc..). Proactively address issues.
- Monitor the health of systems such as active directory, file services, backups, Anti-virus, Office, 365 services, agents, security tools, wireless AP’s, conference systems, and encryption. Develop plans to remediate issues and execute after approval.
- Maintain key distribution groups and lists
- License analysis and clean-up
- Update and maintain the operations SOP’s and other documentation

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Resource Teams, the Reliability Manager position will provide a change leadership direction for North American Operations. They will evaluate manufacturing operations with the focus on Reliability and continuous improvement, implementing industry best practices were practicable. Best Practice standards will reflect corporate objectives of, Responsible Care principles, and Reliability Integrity requirements. Provide leadership, counsel and technical assistance to the site managers, plant engineers, operations, maintenance, and hourly plant personnel in the field of Reliability to attain safety, production, quality, cost, and environmental goals. Processes will strive to eliminate or minimize health and safety risks associated with operational and maintenance activities and are committed to provide a safe workplace for all workers.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Required, Master's preferred
- Expertise in transformational change leadership and change management required
- 10+ years of experience of predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, reliability and maintenance management in chemical process manufacturing plants.
Competencies
- Experience as a direct supervisor of both wage and salaried maintenance personnel in a chemical process environment, both union and non-union.
- Specific experience related to reliability management in the fields of rotating equipment, boilers and burners, industrial refrigeration, corrosion prevention applications, life cycle analysis applications, process control systems.
- Influence and lead peers and indirect management
- Maintenance and Reliability Certification
- Experience with Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma – Green belt Certification is a plus.
- Professional Engineer Registration preferred.

The Millwright-Machinist will support the preventive and corrective maintenance program for our Chlor-Alkali production plant in North Vancouver, BC. They will provide installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment (including conveyors, pumps and compressors, power tools, fans and blowers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and power transmission systems and mobile equipment). This position requires flexibility in meeting multiple job demands and the requirement to assist other trades-persons as and when needed.
Qualification
Knowledge
- Minimum 3+years of experience working in a maintenance or hands-on troubleshooting environment
- Red Seal Machinsit and Millwright Ticket required
Competencies
- Hands-on experience working with Rotating and Stationary equipment is preferred but not mandatory
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work both independently and a team environment
- Strong commitment to Safety and Environmental issues within a plant environment
- Excellent work ethic with a positive attitude a must
Responsibilities
- Maintain, install, inspect, replace or repair Plant Equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Use the Work Order system to track hours, parts and supplies, and equipment history
- Deal with suppliers and initiate purchases through the Chemtrade Purchasing system
- Assist other trades-persons as and when needed and supervise an apprentice
- Perform other maintenance related duties as and when needed
- Be willing and able to work overtime and be on call as required
- Maintain familiarity, and comply with all Chemtrade corporate and site Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures
- Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases)
- Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion
- Follow all Chemtrade facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices
- Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement
- Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement

About this Role and About You
Under general supervision of the Operations Manager or Plant Manager, the Planner/Scheduler plans, schedules, and coordinates a broad spectrum of preventive, routine, repair, and emergency maintenance activities at the Plant, using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as a primary tool. This role also supports the procurement of parts and supplies for the site.

- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in the methods, practices, tools, equipment, material and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrument equipment used in refinery/chemical facilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in preventive maintenance principles and practices; planning methods and tools, including planning and scheduling software.
Competencies
- Demonstrated strong two-way verbal and written communication skills including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitate.
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
Responsibilities
- Plans and schedules maintenance work based on demand, workload, skill sets, and available parts; inspects work locations; uses the computer, CMMS, and other resources to develop plans.
- Ensures all equipment and parts required for the work plan are available for each job including kitting of parts and is responsible for the coordination of outside services such as scaffolding, rentals, inspections services, etc.
- Orders parts required to execute work orders.
- Maintains Work Order backlog and works with Operations and Maintenance Management to prioritize and schedule work plans for the short and long term This includes leading the weekly Maintenance Planning Meeting and maintaining weekly plans 2 weeks out.
- Coordinates activities between operations and maintenance and with other Plant staff, contractors, vendors, and other agencies as required.
- Stays abreast of the activities of engineering projects and uses this information in planning and scheduling work.
- Develops and coordinates planned outages and turnaround schedules.
- Assists in the development of a warehouse plan for maintenance parts, supplies, materials and tracks inventory levels.
- Assists in identifying and recommending training needs, equipment, specifications, and standards to help maintain consistent maintenance practices throughout the Plant and shares best practices across the company
- Works with staff to prioritize work, and reports status of maintenance work to Chemtrade Personnel as directed by supervisor.
- Maintains all equipment information, computer maintenance management system (CMMS), spare parts and documentation per RC14001 as well as ensuring WO closures include worker comments and adjusts benchmark WO’s to ensure ongoing efficiency.
- Schedules and plans all work needed to comply with federal and provincial regulations as required, as well as Chemtrade corporate ESHA and RC requirements,
- Works directly with operations and maintenance personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems.
- Monitors and report maintenance KPI’s and fosters an environment of continuous improvement.
