Position: Journeyman Pipefitter

Primary Location: Brandon, MB

Shift: day work week, Monday to Friday, Day shift. Occasional overtime on evenings and weekends may be required.

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Compensation: $59.25 + benefits

The CAD hourly rate for this position is $59.25 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

 

About This Position and About You 

Provide installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment. The equipment includes pipes, pumps and compressors, power tools, fans and blowers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems. The position requires flexibility in meeting multiple job demands. To provide, exceptional maintenance service to ensure continuous operation within the facility.

 

Qualification 

Knowledge

  • Must possess Inter-provincial Journeyman Pipefitter (red seal).
  • Basic PC skills (Excel and Word).
  • Hold current TDG, WHMIS and First Aid certificates (or be willing to obtain and maintain).

Competencies

  • Ability to work in a team based, self-managed environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills, Interpersonal Skills, and Leadership Skills.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions with the appropriate PPE

 Responsibilities 

  • Conduct Predictive and Preventive maintenance based on the SAP CMMS program. In addition, should always be looking at opportunities to improve the existing PM program.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • General plant maintenance
  • Operation of the following mobile equipment: man lift, forklift and company vehicle
  • Work scheduled 8-hour days and occasionally 10–16-hour days for emergency repairs including weekends and holidays
  • Follow all plant safety guidelines
  • Assiss set upot in the management of the spare parts inventory
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of the annual turnarounds

 Work Conditions 

  • This is an electrochemical, industrial, process type plant. Much of the work is outdoors and frequent walking, bending, crouching, squatting, climbing ladders, etc. may be required.
  • The ability to complete assigned safety training and follow Chemtrade’ s safe work policies and practices are conditions of employment.
